RULES:
1. Competition for 4-H members will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2011, beginning
in the main ring with opening ceremonies.
2. Competitions will be open to 4-H members who are presently enrolled in Clubs
in New Brunswick and are in good standing, having achieved in the 4-H club year
2010-2011.
3. The 4-H fair committee will arrange for supervision of 4-H exhibits and displays.
4. A 4-H member may enter exhibits in any project which he or she has achieved this
club year.
5. Judging of exhibits will consist of a Junior Class (9-13 years of age) and a
Senior Class (14-21 years) as of January 1st of the 4-H year.
6. All non-livestock 4-H projects will be exhibited in the 4-H building.
7. Non-livestock exhibits are to be in place Tuesday evening, September 13, 7pm-9pm
and Wednesday 10am to 6pm for judging on Wednesday, September 14, 2011.
8. 4-H exhibits can be picked up at 5:00pm on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011.

Entries in this category will be judged on quality, appearance, originality, educational
value to the individual member and teaching value of this display to other people.
This individual entry must include; the record book, how you chose your specific
project, an example of the completed work, what you learned from the project, where
you got help for the project (if applicable), the financial cost involved as well
as an estimate of the time taken to complete the project (if considered when project
was done) and any other information that may be needed to effectively show the purpose
of your chosen project.

4-H members can be in any project to compete and exhibit in these classes.
1. JUDGING COMPETITION:
Members must judge in project in which they achieved, by placing and giving reasons
for this project. Members will also place all other projects as provided. If the
project they achieved in is not one of the projects to judge, than the members can
choose any one of the projects to give reasons. Projects to be announced.
2. BAKING Cookies (3 on a plate.)

Recipe: Speerville Newfound Oatmeal Cookies
1 cup Butter
1 cup Brown Sugar
2 Eggs
1 t Vanilla
2 t Baking Powder
1 cup Speerville Whole Wheat Flour
2 cups Speerville Newfound Oatmeal
Optional:
½ - 1 cup Chocolate chips, Organic Thompson raisins, Chopped nuts, etc.
Cream butter and sugar together
Beat in eggs and vanilla until foamy
Stir in Newfound Oatmeal
Combine flour and baking powder together
Add flour to butter mixture and stir well
Add chips, raisins or nuts until just combined, if desired
Drop by spoonful onto greased cookie sheet
Bake at 375° for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown
Cool on wire rack

WED. SEPTEMBER 14 4-H non-livestock exhibits can be dropped off from 10am to 6pm.
Exhibits will be judged at 6:30pm.
SAT. SEPTEMBER 17 4-H Day 8:30 am - 12:30 pm
Main Ring – livestock
Animals must be on the grounds for registration prior to 9am. Stabling - first come
first served (if available), small animals/canines in carriers or on leash.
8:30am – Registration
