SECTION 9
2011 Dairy Cattle Classification
NUMBER OF EXHIBITS PER BREEDING UNIT

(Please read Rules 29, 31)
The maximum total eligible exhibits from a breeding unit is 10 head. For junior
female, dry cow classes where prize money is offered, exhibits per breeding unit
are restricted on multiple exhibits for milking female classes.
All exhibits must be owned by and registered in the name of the exhibitor.
Class 1 - Female - Calf Born Sept. 1, 2010 - February 28, 2011
From a dam with at least one record with a minimum of 125 B.C.A. for milk and fat.
Class 2 - Female - Junior Yearling Born March 1, 2010 - August 31, 2010
From a dam with at least one record with a minimum of 125 for milk and fat.
Class 3 - Female - Senior Yearling Born September 1, 2009 - February 28, 2010
From a dam with at least one record with a minimum of 125 B.C.A. for milk and fat or
the exhibit must have attained a production record equivalent to a minimum B.C.A. of
125 for milk and fat.
Class 4 - Female - 2 Year Old Born September 1, 2008 - August 31, 2009
In milk, dry or not yet calved for the first time. Must be either from a dam with
at least one record with at minimum B.C.A. of 125 for both milk and fat or the exhibit
must have attained a production record equivalent to a minimum B.C.A. of 125 for milk
and fat.
Class 5 - Female - 3 Year Old Born September 1, 2007 - August 31, 2008
In milk or dry. If dry, must be within approximately 8 weeks or calving. At least
one record with a minimum B.C.A. of 125 for milk and fat.
Class 6 - Female - 4 Year Old Born September 1, 2006 - August 31, 2007
In milk or dry. If dry, must be within approximately 8 weeks or calving. At least
one record for a minimum B.C.A. of 125 for milk and fat.
Class 7 - Female - 5 Year Old Born September 1, 2005 - August 31, 2006
In milk or dry. If dry, must be within approximately 8 weeks of calving. At least
one record within a minimum B.C.A. of 125 for milk and fat.
Class 8 - Female - Mature Cow Born prior to September 1, 2005
In milk or dry. If dry, must be within approximately 8 weeks of calving. At least
one record with a minimum B.C.A. of 125 for milk and fat.
Class 9 - Breeders Herd (bred and owned by exhibitor)
Group of 4 animals but not more than one bull. Each animal in the group must have
been exhibited in one of the classes for single animals. The registration certificate
for each respective animal must show the exhibitor as “breeder” and as “owner” --
in both cases either as an individual or in partnership. In other words, the exhibitor
may be a “joint owner” of an animal and/or the “joint breeder” of an animal. All
the animals must be from one farm or breeding unit.
Class 10 - Best Udder Class
Judge shall designate best two udders in classes (5), (6), (7) and (8).
These designated exhibits shall compete for first and second best udders in the
show.
Production Records
A.R.O.P. Inspection Report PL113L, R.O.P. certificate, a similar inspection report
or certificate issued by an approved supervised D.H.I.A. (P.A.T.L.Q., Quebec) plan
or official breed association document signed and certified by the association is
acceptable proof of performance.
A projection of milk production computer printed on an inspection report is proof
of performance provided that the inspection report was printed within sixty days
of the day of judging and that the projection is based on a lactation period of
at least 90 days.
NOTE: A projection of a cow’s milk production may be used to qualify the cow or
her daughter, where applicable, but not her sons. No photocopies of sales catalogues
will be accepted as proof of performance.
A Fair has the authority to make the B.C.A. requirement more restrictive.

2011 BEEF CATTLE CLASSIFICATION

Each breeding unit is allowed a maximum of 10 exhibits excluding the Breeder’s Herd
and Get-of-Sire classes. All exhibits must be owned by and registered in the name
of the exhibitor. Note exceptions in the Get-of-Sire and Breeder’s Herd Classes.
A fair may authorize two exhibits per class in a maximum of three classes. Note
the exceptions in the Breeder’s Herd and Get-of-Sire Classes.
Bull Classes
Class 1 - Bull - Calf - born on or after January 1, 2011 minimum of six months of
age on day of judging. (Ribbons only).
Class 2 - Bull - Yearling - born April 1, 2010 - December 31, 2010
Class 3 - Bull - Yearling - born January 1, 2010 - March 31, 2010
Class 4 - Bull - born January 1, 2009 - December 31, 2009
Female Classes
Class 5 - Female - Calf - born on or after January 1, 2011 minimum of six months
of age on day of judging.
Class 6 - Female - heifer born April 1, 2009 - December 31, 2010
Class 7 - Female - heifer - born January 1, 2010 - March 31, 2010
Class 8 - Female - heifer - born January 1, 2009 - December 31, 2009
with her own 2011, natural, purebred, tattooed, calf at foot. Female and calf shall
be shown as a unit except that the calf is eligible to be shown as a single animal
in Classes 10 and 11 (Class of Breeder’s Herd and Class of Get-of- Sire only).
Class 9 - Female - born prior to January 1, 2009 with her own 2011 natural, purebred,
tattooed, calf at foot. Female and calf shall be shown as a unit except that the
calf is eligible to show as a single animal in Classes 10 and 11 (Breeder’s Herd
and Get-of-Sire).
Group Classes
Class 10 - Breeder’s Herd - a group of four (4) animals bred by the exhibitor, both sexes
represented, must be exhibited in previous classes. At least one animal must be
owned by the exhibitor. Limited to one exhibit per exhibitor.
Class 11 - Get-of-Sire - A group of three (3) animals from the same sire, at least
one animal owned by the exhibitor. Animals must be shown in previous classes. Limited
to one exhibit per exhibitor.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
All exhibits must have been tested under an officially recognized Beef Cattle Testing
Program.
(1) In the case of animals old enough to have completed test, full R.O.P. test information,
including: adjusted 200 day weight, gain on test, and adjusted 365 day weight must
be provided by the exhibitor.
(2) In the case of animals not old enough to have completed R.O.P. test, adjusted
200 day weight must be provided by the exhibitor.
Performance information is to be posted in the stall.

SECTION 10B - HEREFORDS (Competition)
